Free ration distribution under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana Gujarat 2022

PMGKY 2021 | PM Garib Kalyan Yojana 2022 | प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण योजना: On 26 March 2022 the Central government cabinet has decided to extend the benefits of free ration for 6t months which means now beneficiary will receive fee ration till September 2022. As you all know that during the lockdown the central government has started the PMGKY in which many benefits have been provided to the lower middle class and other class people to reduce the extra burden during the COVID-19 lockdown. Under this, the government also provided free ration benefits to around 80 Cr beneficiaries holding a valid ration card. The central government has extended this scheme third time.


Gujarat govt to distribute free ration to around 3.25 cr needy people. Union minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday blamed the global situation, including high oil prices and the Russia-Ukraine conflict besides the pandemic, for price rise and asserted that the government has been taking measures to control it with duties on imports of several essential items like pulses virtually removed.

Addressing a press conference to highlight the benefits of the 'Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana', which provides free ration to over 80 crore people, Goyal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has underlined his sensitivity to the poor and commitment to the welfare of the weaker sections of society as the programme has ensured that no household lacked in food during the pandemic for over two years.

Citing adequate availability of grains which has ensured total food security, the minister for commerce & industry, consumer affairs, food & public distribution and textiles noted that Modi had offered to supply from its stock to the world if the WTO accords permission, and added that the demand India has been receiving from various countries is "historic" and "beyond imagination".

Air correspon dent reports that the government has also announced to distribute one-month free ration to migrant workers from 4th April. In view of the prevailing lockdown situation, the government will distribute essential ration to more than 66 lakhs Antyodaya families through around 17 thousand fair price shops.

Secretary to CM, Ashwini Kumar said, only 25 beneficiaries will be given ration at a time in order to maintain social distancing. He said, three-member teams, have been formed to ensure smooth distribution and avoid crowd at the shops. He said, migrant workers who do not have ration card will also be given free ration from coming 4th April through Anna Brahma Yojna.

The CM asked the district administration to ensure that all the flour mills in the urban and rural areas remain open during the lockdown.

The implementation of One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) plan is one of the top priorities of Department of Food & Public Distribution, Government of India to provide an option to all eligible ration card holders/beneficiaries covered under NFSA to access their entitlements from anywhere in the country. Under this plan, the distribution of highly subsidized food grains is enabled through nation-wide portability of ration cards through the implementation of IT-driven system by installation of ePoS devices at FPSs, seeding of Aadhaar number of beneficiaries with their ration cards and operationalisation of biometrically authenticated ePoS transactions in the State/UTs.

The government has enough stock to extend the PMGKY (Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana) scheme from June onwards 

The secretary said that if the govt has enough stock to increase the PMGKY scheme from June onwards. He said, “I can assure you, we’ve enough stock to affect things “.

Since the acquisition goes on, more stock is coming. we’ve enough stock. ” Asked why the govt is restricting the distribution of free food grains for less than two months and whether this is often a symbol of a lockdown within the coming months, the secretary said, The Prime Minister clarified it’s been said that there’ll not be an entire lockdown”.
